UHV Design, a specialist in vacuum industry machinery, partnered with an EcoCooling installer to implement a low-energy heating, cooling, and ventilation system for its advanced machine shop. The system uses 50% less electricity than a comparable air handling unit (AHU), helping reduce both carbon emissions and operational costs.

High-Efficiency Cooling

Three Large EcoCooling units are used to cool the large space, each delivering 18,000 m³/hr of fresh air. Built from UV-stabilised, corrosion-resistant polypropylene, they meet all European safety and efficiency standards. Featuring electronically commutated (EC) fans and a bespoke control system, they provide precise airflow control with significantly lower energy use than traditional systems. Three extract fans support continuous air circulation at minimal running cost.

Efficient Heating and Clean Air

Heating is supplied by under-ceiling heat pumps, while destratification fans ensure even temperature distribution. Crossplate heat exchangers maintain high air quality by continuously filtering and refreshing the air.

EC Fan Technology for Maximum Efficiency

One of the key features of EcoCooling’s large coolers is their inbuilt EC fans.  These outperform traditional AC models by combining speed control and intelligent energy use. Capable of energy savings up to 70%, they dynamically adjust to demand, cut power use, and reduce heat and noise output. Their long life and low maintenance further improve system sustainability.

Smart, Sustainable Climate Control

With this energy-efficient system, UHV Design achieves powerful performance and low carbon output, proving that sustainability doesn’t require compromise.
