GSF has recently moved into a large new warehouse in Wolverhampton. As part of the overall fit – out, they sought to cool their large open – plan office using a low – cost and low – carbon solution . They selected an EcoCooling system, which could provide comfortable working conditions even during the height of the summer months.

A key advantage of an EcoCooling system is that it constantly introduces fresh air into the area. This ensures that CO2 le vels are kept the same as, or close to, those found externally. This provides generally healthier working conditions for staff compared to conventional air conditioning systems, which recirculate the same stale air.
The installed scheme consists of three r oof – mounted EcoCoolers, ducted into the area and discharging fresh, filtered, cooled air through 12 ceiling – mounted diffusers.
The warm air is removed from the area using ducted extraction units venting into the large warehouse. The whole system is automati cally controlled using thermostats and features an overriding time – clock system.
The EcoCooling system is over 90% cheaper to run compared to a conventional air conditioning system and does not utilise any refrigerants.
