EcoCooling was approached to provide a solution for overheating in Urban Outfitters’ UK warehouse. They required an energy-efficient, carbon-friendly cooling solution that could be implemented in phases as they expanded their facility.

The Challenge
The existing facility had several mezzanine floors where temperatures became uncomfortable for staff during the summer months. Future plans to install more floors meant that any proposed solution needed to be scalable and adaptable.
The Solution
EcoCooling’s modular evaporative cooling units were the ideal solution, providing year-round ventilation and green, energy-efficient cooling in the summer months.
Evaporative cooling can be used to blanket cool mezzanine floor areas while also operating independently in specific areas. This allows the EcoCoolers to be installed in phases without disruption, enabling a cost-effective approach to expansion and installation.
The Result
Approved installers, Celsius Design, were tasked with designing a phased installation scheme.
The final, fully built system comprises of 16 ECP external EcoCoolers feeding directly into the main warehouse and mezzanine floors, with partnered extraction on the opposite side of the building.
“The EcoCooling units have transformed our mezzanine floor areas. The previous summer’s temperatures were unbearable, but the 16 EcoCooling units now provide a lovely, gentle cool breeze across the areas. Celsius did a great job installing them around our existing production, and we didn’t experience any downtime or interruptions. It’s been a great installation and investment for our staff on the two mezzanine floors.”
