EcoCooling is delighted to announce that our Managing Director, Alan Beresford, will be joining Jon Summers from RISE to present at the upcoming OCP Global Summit on 5 March 2020.

The Open Compute Project (OCP) is a collaborative community whose mission it is to design, use, and enable the mainstream delivery of the most efficient designs for scalable computing. This year’s Global Summit will bring together more than 3,600 key decision makers, executives, engineers, developers and suppliers, all of whom are there to support the growth of the open hardware ecosystem.

Together, Jon and Alan will be sharing the latest findings from two cutting-edge projects that have been seeking to improve the holistic control of cooling systems in data centres, both of which have achieved pPUE’s of 1.01 and below.

The presentation will start with a short introduction to the Boden Type Data Centre (BTDC), the H2020 funded project to build and run the world’s most efficient data centre. This will set the scene for a live demonstration of a 150kW OCP data centre in Luleå, which is a redeployment of the OCP operation within BTDC. The live demo will serve as a validation of the findings at Boden and showcase a proven design for more effective data centre cooling.
