Evaporative Cooling General Safety Notes

Safe Evaporative coooling from Ecocooling

Electrical
Ecocooling evaporative cooling vs air conditioning
Whenever the unit is being worked on with the side panels removed the unit should be electrically isolated using the external lock-off isolator or the isolator. There are both 240V and 24V systems within the unit. The coolers are fitted with an RCD as standard.

Moving Parts
Ecocooling evaporative cooling vs air conditioning
Whenever the units is being worked on with the side panels removed the unit should be electrically isolated using the external isolator.

Legionnaires
Carbon trust loans for evaporative cooling
Never use a high pressure cleaning system such as a pressure washer on the unit. This can create tiny droplets which, should the debris or scale within the unit be contaminated, are the transmission path for the disease

Chemicals
Evaporative Cooling Chemicals
Biocides and cleaning agents can present a hazard both as a solution and when mixed with other chemicals. It is important the system is completely clear of bromine prior to commencement of maintenance to minimise this hazard. When handling chemicals always use eye protection and gloves. Always refer to the appropriate chemical data sheet

Other Safety Features
  • RCD protection
  • Earthed sump water
  • External lock off isolator
  • Side frames locked
