Case Studies
Our Evaporative Cooling Products
in Action

EcoCoolers can be used for a myriad of different applications and have been used throughout Europe on projects ranging from large industrial applications such as cooling warehouses and factories to more public orientated tasks such as cooling garden centres, keeping classrooms cool and air cooling hospital waiting areas and through to commercial applications such as air cooling offices, cooling data centres and cooling server rooms.
We have applied evaporative cooling to the specialist field of pharmaceutical cooling and have installed evaporative cooling systems for Merck, Jumbogate, Chemilines, Vygon, Pharmasol, Wren labs, Aspar and Durbin.
In this section you can see a range of our projects which have been recorded as case studies giving you an insight into the requirements of each of the organisations concerned and the way Ecocooling installers have solved the various problems requested of them.
Some comments from clients ...
Mazak machines at Worcester had 4 EcoCoolers put in last year in the works - on a unannounced recent visit to the factory the installer called to check on the machines. The manager asked the workforce what they thought of the cooling system and said that this was the man responsible - the result spontaneous applause broke out!
Sir Stuart Rose talking about savings made within M & S and in particular as a result of using Evaporative Cooling from Ecocooling - Quotation from Daily Telegraph Business Section, Monday 2nd February
M&S has saved £8billion from reducing its clothing packaging and from re-cycling hangers. A clothes exchange with Oxfam has prevented 1400 tonnes of clothing from going to landfill and raised 1.8m for charity . An eco-factory in Sri-Lanka uses half of the water of a normal factory and 25% less power as a result of energy efficient air conditioning technology"
Quotation by Bill Johnson of Warwickshire county Council on 10/3/09 talking about the server room at Kings House Bedworth where 2 evaporative coolers are installed making 3 CRAC systems redundant
We estimated a £5,000/annum saving on the loan agreement and we are getting £6,200 / annum at 11p/unit, with the server room not operating anywhere near full capacity. As they install more server units the savings will grow.
GKL Group in Peterborough had 4 EcoCoolers used for the cooling of their new HQ building.
EcoCoolers were chosen at the express request of the CO who wanted a way to reduce the carbon footprint.
GKL are delighted with the fresh cool environment and find it a pleasure to work in.
Cellbond - project Engineer Oke Anosike says “the shop floor used to get up to 40C in the summer: now you can have windows and doors open and the temperature stays at 22C inside. Its amazing: the hotter the temperature the more efficient the system is.”
What did it cost?
It was cheaper than air conditioning by a factor of 4 to 1, with maintenance almost double that. Conventional AC would have cost about £80k but this was £22.5k. Installation was pretty easy too; we just had to work out where to position the extractor fans to get good air circulation.”
STYLO BARRATT
Site facilities manager Keith Pemberton confirmed that conditions in the warehouse during summer 2007 had been “beautiful” and there were noticeable decreases in absenteeism and a better working atmosphere both literally and metaphorically since the completion of the installation. READ MORE ......
High Wycombe leisure Centre – centre manager – “The Simpson Suite now feels fresher and the previous odour problems have been banished due to the high air change rate that the EcoCooling system provides. The old costly air conditioning is now no longer needed” READ MORE ......
Barry Mosley, Clarks Group facilities manager sums up why he used evap cooling in his distribution centre in Street Somerset ..... "We required an environmentally friendly and low cost solution to the cooling of this area. Clarks has a strong environmental ethos whilst still requiring commercially sound investments. Evaporative cooling has only 15% of the carbon impact compared with conventional refrigeration based air conditioning and in addition EcoCoolers do not use potentially harmful refrigerants".

Paul Gilmour, Scotchem Ltd -
“We had 1 EcoCooler installed at end of 2006 to service 2 small units where prescription medicines are stored which deteriorate if the temperature goes above 25 degrees. We added 2 more units last year and we are very happy with the product as it is a very good product for the price, achieves good results, and is not as bulky as an air handling system"
